Transform outdated or ripped jeans into a stylish and practical picnic blanket with this easy sewing tutorial. Starting the annual spring cleaning spree, repurpose those old, unwanted jeans into a new and useful item for outdoor gatherings. Ideal for summer outings, a picnic blanket made from denim fabric is both pretty and durable. Follow the DIY instructions below to create a lovely picnic blanket measuring approximately 60” wide x 70” long. The one featured here used five pairs of women’s size 10 jeans. Complete the blanket by adding a tie made from one of the jeans’ waistbands to secure it when rolled up. Enjoy your eco-friendly picnic accessory!
